Home to some of the most famous scenery in Britain, the Langdale Pikes, Pavey Ark and Harrison Stickle, the name Langdale originates from the Nordic word meaning ‘Long Valley’. Hence our name.

The mountain scape is some of the most recognisable horizon lines in the whole of the Lake District, bringing together rugged craggy peaks with beautiful hidden tarns to long graceful valleys and flowing rivers.

Long Valley Yurts, Langdale is situated on the National Trust campsite in Great Langdale, the site is located at the head of the Valley and guarded by the dominating Langdale Pikes, this campsite is a walker's and climber's dream come true.

Contact us now and book your stay at the Great Langdale site. Low Wray is a large spectacularly located campsite on the quiet western shore of Windermere, it provides a quite retreat for couples, friends and families.

From April 2009 Long Valley Yurts will also be situated within the National Trust Campsite in Low Wray on Windermere. Long Valley Yurts Windermere is an excellent base if you wish to take part in outdoor activities. There are some excellent mountain biking tracks over Claife Heights and nearby Grizedale Forest, which are accessible from the campsite.

Nestled in a secluded part of the valley this traditional working hill farm is set amid some of the most beautiful scenery the Lake District has to offer, with plenty of walks from the door to suit all abilities. Climbing, canoeing, mountain biking, or simply relaxing on the shores of Derwent Water are all available too.
